Weifang (Victor) Xu
Hello! I am a postdoctoral fellow at Emory University and an international security scholar specializing in cutting-edge empirical research on interstate conflict and diplomacy, with a strong focus on policy-relevant studies. Driven by this research agenda, I apply experimental and computational social science methods to examine the dynamics of conflict escalation and de-escalation, particularly within the context of U.S.-China great power competition.
My research has been published or is forthcoming in Journal of Conflict Resolution, The Journal of Experimental Political Science, Political Science Research and Methods, and Research & Politics. Additionally, my other research has received an invitation to revise and resubmit at International Studies Quarterly. These projects have garnered substantial support, amounting to over 110,000 USD.
I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from Florida State University in 2024. During the 2023-2024 academic year, I was the Lo Chia-Luen International Sinology Visiting Fellow at National Chengchi University.
